When I got to tropical places like Puerto Rico, I make a version of this GGS. Papaya is an amazing beauty fruit, especially when you can source it from right off the tree. It is high in beta-carotene, antioxidants and enzymes. The tropical lime works great with the papaya (in place of the lemon we usually use). Though I love coconuts and eat them every afternoon in such environments, notice that I do not add them to the daily morning GGS. Fat slows down the cleansing properties of the GGS, and coconuts contain natural beauty fat.
There are lots of local farmers in PR and other tropical places that you can seek out to find greens and sprouts.
Ingredients (serving size: 16-20 oz+):
- 1 cup water
- 9 cups chopped spinach or kale
- 5 cups sunflower sprouts
- 2 cups papaya, diced
- Juice of 2 limes
Blend the water, kale or spinach and sunflower sprouts. Add the papaya and lime, and blend until smooth. Enjoy, and save the rest covered in the fridge for up to two and a half days.
