Hey Guys!

How’s it going? I’m back in LA now, and stepped right back into my LA life this morning. What a different lifestyle I have here than in NY- but I love both! I have a huge kitchen here to make food for my clients in, and I go on conference calls while in the backyard, which has a few lemon trees. Plus I get to look at the ocean every day!

The Beauty Detox Solution has been out for 1 week now! We had a great first week.  I’ve been so honored and pleased to hear from so many of you that are loving the book!  If you do love it, please share the info on it with your loved ones! Starting today it can be found on display tables at Barnes and Nobles, plus at all the online places listed on the book page. Also, reviews on Amazon and Barnes and Nobles.com would also be much appreciated. Thank you so much for all the support!!!! :)

My book launch party is next week, so starting tonight I am starting to roll Raw Cacao Truffles! Each guest will get a few when they leave, so that means I have to roll hundreds of them. But I am trying to work on it 1 or a few hours a night, as it’s sort of meditative. I like doing it myself so I can put all my love into them for the guests.

Also please check out this feature on The Beauty Detox Solution and the Glowing Green Smoothie.

I also love hearing what recipes you are trying out and doing well with! What are your faves so far?

I send my love!

Kimberly

Hi there. I bought November’s issue of Women’s Health magazine and made a weeks worth (as it says in the recipe) of this smoothie but after doing some on-line research and saw information that said even after 2 hours, vegetables etc. in smoothies loose their nutirents. Can you please comment on this?
    Thanks

    Hi Kimberly,
I was wondering if the green smoothie is okay to keep in the fridge overnight. I was going to make it tonight but my mom wasn’t sure if the spinach would go bad by the morning. But, I can’t wait to try this!

Just wondering if I can be on this diet while I’m nursing. I obviously need more food and nutrients and I need it around the clock.

Hi, I am reading your book now. What is the best brand of probiotics, digestive enzyme and magnesium-oxide to purchase? When do I eat the nuts and I make quinoa and sweet potato regularly, when is the best time to eat that?

Help! Someone please give more details about how to combine foods! May I combine avocados with fruit?
Why is it ok to combine fruit and veggies in the Glowing Green smoothie? Are leafy greens veggies?
Are the sweet tomatoes ok to eat if cadita is a concern?? AND if I am trying to get rid of Candita, isn’t stevia a sugar?

Specifics, please… bullet form… hard-core rules would be great. I LOVE THE BOOK! I read it over the past weekend. I am on fire now to be healthier. I have been mostly raw for 8 months.

If you read the book you would see that I explain that green veggies combine okay with fruit. ;) Yes leafy greens are veggies!

Stevia is okay for candida. If candida is a concern you should pull fruit out from the Glowing Green Smoothie and add stevia instead as needed for sweetness!

I wanted to know if there was a reason to why you blend your fruits and veggies oppose to juicing. I believe I seen you touched on it a bit, but I was kind of confused. Thanks for the insight. :D

Hi Kimberly, I’m living at Paris and I knew you thanks to your blog.

Firstly, I would like to say that at the beginning I loved to read your blog but I never tried to do what you advice. Since one day…

When I was 25, I had a gastric ulcer. Suddenly I understood that life is so short! And your advices rang like obvious fact in my head. Inside of me (as for many people) I knew that what you say in your blog is true but I would never do effort to make it. But when you are ill, you would do anything to feel better. And that’s what I did with you blog.
I never really understood why I got my ulcer. Perhaps because I made so many YO-YO diet… Whatever I never complain because if my body is ill is because of me and I knew it.
Your article “Believing it is really possible” was a revalation for me. And I did it !

I eat many fruits and vegetables and lean protein as fish and poultry. I restart to do sport like yoga, running, swimming and anything that make me happy to move. Naturally I’m fitting without feeling frustrated. I become flexible as in my teens. I do all this thing because YOU make me understand through your article that it is possible!

So many many thanks to you because you are my mentor.

Thank you to all your love you give us because thanks to you, when I home from work later I have courage and envy to do yoga or any sport.

I ordered your book but to be delivered in France you gotta wait a month!!
I’m so excited to read you, you’ll be my bedside book :-)

God bless you Kim and again many thanks…
    See you soon
(ps : sorry for my english, I hope you will understood my story)

    Hi Kimberly!
First off, I really really love this book. It is an entirely different way of looking at food and makes so much sense (the food combining). I love, love love the dharma salad. This is the most incredible salad I’ve EVER had! So delicious :) I had it with the basil dressing as I’d already made it so I’ll try the other one that you have in the recipe. I love the basil dressing. It is just the best! I’ve also been doing the Chai Delight (I’m dubbing it as chai delight ‘pudding’) to get me away from my sugar cravings! So far so good.

I was doing so fantastic and immediately started the diet as soon as I received the book, I was sooo excited! But… I also had an important all-weekend event (not the best time to start!) and cracked Sunday evening and went back to my old ways of eating and really paid for it. :c yipes! So I’m trying to ease into it more so that this truly is a transition in to a totally different way of eating for life. I’m getting my Vitamix tomorrow soooo excited :) I’ve been doing the green smoothies for around a year (I first heard of you via Splendora’s site) but it’s making all the difference having 2 big salads in addition to them every day! I have a lot of energy now. Everyone is always curious about what I’m eating so I’m always sharing what I have with them and now I can tell them about your amazing book. Thank you sooo much for writing it and sharing all your wonderful wisdom Kimberly! I’ve learned a lot and it all makes so much sense and is rather intuitive when we get rebalanced to the way things were intended to be.

Q? As I mentioned I’ve been doing the green smoothie and just love it; however, I do have issues with loving sweets and dairy and have thus far been able to go to only eating fish 1 – 2 times week, rarely dairy and sugar. But of all of them sugar is my biggest struggle. What diet should I be following? I hate to give up my green smoothie! And anything else you have to say on the subject of sugar that’ll scare me straight the way casien scared me with dairy, is most appreciated and welcomed. And I will definitely write a review! I think we all can’t wait to, right?

    Xoxo,
    Joi~

I can personally say after eating more plant-based, my body has re-trained itself from dairy and sugar cravings. And this is coming from a sugar fiend plus I felt that meat was waaayyy easier to let go of than cheese and baked goods. So I understand your struggle! This is not an answer to your question so hopefully you will get some advice on it.

I can see now that my body was overly acidic from the way I ate which meant that my tummy eventually was paying the price. The imbalance I had was a huge contributor to my refined carbs & sugar cravings. When that healed with help from my naturopath, I noticed my cravings started to subside when my body received what it really thrived on and could receive it with less obstruction. Almost 2 years later, my cravings are lost to the wind. Even my childhood attachment to sweets are no longer a trigger. It took some steady pacing, but the continuing end result is worth it.

You seem to have the great concept of transitioning already. I have gone gung ho before on things that it shied me away from them when I wasn’t used to the backlash that resulted from the speed I was going at. It sounds like you’re off to a great start and I wish you every bit of success towards abundant healthy living.

By the way, you are going to love your Vitamix, that thing is what I’d like to call a kitchen toy…so fun to use!

Wow…Thanks so much for your input Amarie. It gives me hope! :) And sadly (sigh) I do have a pouchie stomach, where I always get bloated. :( One day at a time and having good alternative replacements I believe are key for me. The hardest test I think: patience.

I am amazed by the Vitamix! Besides the awesome creaminess, etc., I feel so much more energized after having my smoothie, something that I never experiences with my other blender! I’m in love :) ha ha ha!

Hi Kimberly – the book is terrific! I have made a few recipes – the Raw Rolled Oat Cereal, Sally’s Salsa, the Avo Beauty sandwich, the Oil-free Red Pepper and Cilantro Dressing and the Probiotic and Enzyme salad (which is still incubating). All have been delicious!

Two questions: I went to Whole Foods in search of the Magnesium Oxygen supplement. They told me that they are not allowed to sell it because of the free radicals it releases ? Can you explain? Where would I obtain it?
Second: I can’t find sprouted millet bread. Are the Ezekial sprouted breads ok instead?
    Thanks and congrats again!

I’ve been doing the smoothie’s almost daily for about a year. My favorite is spinach, romaine, cuke, parsley, and an avocado. Is putting the avocado in a problem? I don’t like banana and the avocado gives it such a smooth rich texture!

I also travel every week, Monday-Thursday and I fly most weeks. When i’m at a location for more than a couple of weeks, I blend at home and bring gallons of it to keep in the freezer. But what do I do when I’m at a different location every week? I can’t back my vitamix in a carryon and get it thru security? I miss my smoothies when I’m on the road. Help.

Reached new levels of mental clarity and physical energy. Been eating raw for 5 days now. No traffic jams! Telling folks at work. One bought the book right away the next day. I have never felt better. No food cravings! My stomach and obliques have tightened up. I could ramble on…
